Welcome to Jainify. By accessing or using our application, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account on Jainify and use the Service. You represent and warrant that you have the right, authority, and capacity to enter into this agreement and to abide by all of the terms and conditions.

2. Profile Verification

To maintain a secure and trusted community:

• Selfie Verification: You must complete a live selfie verification using your device's camera. This image is analyzed in real-time to match your profile photos and is not permanently stored.
• PAN Verification: We use your Permanent Account Number (PAN) via Cashfree to issue a "Verified" badge and ensure you are a real person.
• You agree to provide true, accurate, and current information. We reserve the right to suspend or ban accounts providing false information or using fake photos.

3. User Conduct

You agree that you will not:

• Act in an unlawful or unprofessional manner, including being dishonest, abusive, or discriminatory.
• Misrepresent your identity, your age, or your affiliations with a person or entity.
• Request money from, or defraud, other users.
• Use the Service for any commercial activities, including selling or advertising.
• Post content that is sexually explicit, offensive, or promotes violence.

Violation of these conduct rules will result in immediate termination of your account without a refund.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

Jainify offers premium subscriptions that grant access to enhanced features such as unlimited chatting and full profile visibility.

• All payments are processed securely via PhonePe.
• By purchasing a premium subscription, you authorize us to charge your selected payment method.
• These are one-time, non-recurring payments for the specified duration (e.g., 30 days). Your subscription will not auto-renew.

5. Strict No-Refund Policy

All purchases made on Jainify are final and strictly non-refundable.

Like leading dating platforms, we do not offer refunds or credits for partially used membership periods, dissatisfaction with matches, or accidental purchases.

• If you are banned or your account is terminated due to a violation of our User Conduct rules (Section 3), you will not receive a refund for any remaining premium time.
• If you find a match and decide to stop using the app before your subscription expires, you will not receive a prorated refund.

Exceptions: The only exception to this policy is if a proven technical glitch on our payment gateway (PhonePe) results in you being charged multiple times for the exact same transaction. In such rare cases, the duplicate charge will be reversed.

6. Limitation of Liability

Jainify operates merely as an intermediary match-making platform. We do not guarantee marriage, a relationship, or any specific outcome from using our service. We do not conduct criminal background checks. You are solely responsible for your interactions with other members, both inside the app and in real life.

Jainify assumes no liability for real-world interactions or damages occurring between members met through the app.

7. Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time via the Settings menu in the app. Deleting your account will immediately revoke your access to premium features without a refund, and your profile will be removed from the platform.

8. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, specifically the Information Technology Act, 2000, and rules made thereunder. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in India.

Privacy Policy

At Jainify, we value "Satya" (Truth) and respect your privacy. This policy explains exactly what data we collect, why we collect it, and how it is secured. This policy is written based on the actual technical implementation of our platform.

1. Data We Collect

We only collect data that is actively submitted by you or strictly necessary for security and matchmaking.

A. Personal and Demographic Information

When you create a profile, we collect the following data stored securely in our Google Firebase Database (Mumbai region):

• Authentication Data: Phone number (used strictly for OTP login).
• Core Identity: Full name, Date of Birth (used to verify 18+ age), Gender.
• Location: City of residence (manually selected from a predefined list).
• Faith & Traditions: Jain Denomination.
• Education & Career: Profession, Qualification, College.
• Lifestyle: Bio, Hobbies, and Interests.
• Media: Profile photos uploaded by you.

B. Verification Data (KYC)

• PAN Number: We collect your Permanent Account Number (PAN) via Cashfree's verification API. We check the validity and name associated with the PAN. We do not collect or store Aadhaar cards or any photos of your government ID documents.
• Live Selfie (Biometric Processing): To ensure you match your uploaded photos, you must take a live selfie. This selfie is processed ephemerally using AWS Rekognition. AWS generates a mathematical "confidence score" comparing your face to your profile photos. Your live selfie image is NEVER permanently saved to our servers or storage buckets. It is processed in memory and immediately discarded.

C. App Activity and Interaction Data

We track your interactions within the app to enforce rate limits and optimize matchmaking:

• Swipe History: Profiles you have liked or passed.
• Chat Data: Messages sent to mutual matches (stored securely in Firebase Realtime Database).
• Counters: Daily swipe limits, daily message limits, and block lists to prevent spam and abuse.

D. Device and Technical Data

• Device ID: We generate a localized Device ID (otp_device_id) stored in your browser/device's LocalStorage. This is used exclusively to prevent SMS OTP spam and enforce cooldown timers.
• IP Address: Collected strictly by Google reCAPTCHA v3 during the login process to prevent bot attacks.

E. Payment Data

When you purchase a Jainify Premium subscription, payments are processed directly by PhonePe.

• What We See: Order ID, Transaction ID, Payment Status, Amount, and UTR.
• What We Do NOT See: We do not collect or store your raw UPI PIN, bank account numbers, or credit card details.

2. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used exclusively for the following purposes:

1. Matchmaking: Displaying your profile (Name, Age, Profession, Denomination, Location, Bio, Photos) to potential matches.
2. Security & Trust: The PAN Number and AWS Rekognition selfie check are used to grant you a "Verified" badge and ensure you are a real person.
3. Communication: Facilitating real-time chat with your mutual matches.
4. Abuse Prevention: Using your activity metrics (blocks, swipe counts) to detect and ban bad actors.

3. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell your data. We do not use third-party marketing trackers (such as Meta Pixel, Google Analytics, or Mixpanel).

We share data only with the following essential infrastructure partners:

1. Google Firebase / GCP (Mumbai, India): Hosts our databases, storage, and backend functions.
2. AWS (Amazon Web Services): Processes the live selfie ephemerally for biometric face comparison.
3. PhonePe: Processes premium subscription payments.
4. Cashfree: Verifies the authenticity of your PAN number.
5. Google reCAPTCHA: Analyzes traffic during login to block bots.

4. Data Security & Storage

• Data Localization: All primary databases and storage buckets are hosted in Google Cloud's Mumbai (asia-south1) region.
• Phone Number Privacy: Your phone number is strictly stored in a private database collection (usersPrivate). It is never exposed to other users or matches.
• Data Retention: We retain your profile data and chat history as long as your account is active. If your account is banned for violating our Terms, we retain a cryptographic hash of your phone number and your PAN number to prevent you from creating a new account.

5. Your Rights

Under applicable Indian laws, you have the right to:

• Access: View the data you have provided via the App Settings.
• Delete: Request the permanent deletion of your account. Deleting an account removes your profile, photos, and messages from active databases within 30 days.

Cookie Policy

At Jainify, we prioritize a clean, tracking-free experience. This Cookie Policy explains how we use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies on our platform.

1. What Are Cookies and Local Storage?

Cookies are small data files placed on your device. Local Storage is an industry-standard technology that allows a website or app to store data locally on your computer or mobile device.

We pride ourselves on NOT using third-party marketing or tracking cookies. You will never see Google Analytics, Meta Pixels, or cross-site advertising trackers on Jainify.

2. How We Use Local Storage & Cookies

We only use these technologies for Strictly Necessary functional and security purposes.

A. Authentication and Session Management

We use Google Firebase Authentication to keep you securely logged into the app. Firebase securely stores a session token in your browser's IndexedDB or Local Storage so you do not have to log in every time you open the app.

B. Security and Abuse Prevention (OTP Cooldowns)

To prevent malicious bots from spamming our SMS OTP (One-Time Password) system, we store the following exact keys in your browser's Local Storage:

• otp_device_id: A randomized, anonymous identifier to track request origin.
• otp_daily_state_v1: Keeps track of how many OTPs you have requested today to enforce a daily limit.
• otp_cooldown_state_v1: Enforces a 60-second cooldown timer between OTP requests.

These keys do not track your identity or browsing habits outside of the app. They are strictly a security boundary.

C. Bot Protection

We use Google reCAPTCHA v3 to secure our authentication endpoints. reCAPTCHA may set functional cookies and collect hardware/software information (such as device and application data) to evaluate whether you are a human or a bot. This data is processed by Google strictly for security purposes and is not used for personalized advertising.

3. Third-Party Services

Because payments are processed securely off-site by PhonePe, when you initiate a premium subscription purchase, PhonePe may set its own functional and security cookies. These are governed entirely by PhonePe's Privacy Policy.

4. Managing Your Preferences

Since we only use Strictly Necessary technologies required for the app to function securely, there is no option to opt-out of these specific storage mechanisms without breaking the app's core functionality (such as logging in or verifying your phone number).

If you do not agree to the use of these essential local storage keys, you must cease using Jainify and clear your browser or device storage.
